The Toon Patrol are the law officers of Toontown whom Judge Doom hired to capture and execute Roger Rabbit for the murder of Marvin Acme. The weasels love to laugh at the misery of others, including each other, and love anything grim and dark. They, like almost all other toons, are invincible to everything and anything without it doing any longterm physical damage, except intense laughter; laughing hard and long enough, for them, is lethal. Judge Doom constantly has to remind his henchmen to not laugh or they will end up dead, "Just like your idiot hyena cousins," and sometimes have to remind each other. By their fellow toons, they are feared since they help Judge Doom capture any toon charged with a felony before they were tried, convicted, and sentenced to death by being "dipped" (dipped into a mixture of turpentine, acetone and benzene that would dissolve the toon).

[edit] Character Description

Smarty - The leader of the weasels. He has brown fur and wears a beige double breasted suit with a matching beige zoot hat and pink band. His weapon of choice is a pistol and he is the best fighter of the group. Smartass possesses the most self control of the weasels and doesn't have a typical "toonish" attitude. He is killed by Eddie Valiant (Bob Hoskins) when he kicks him in the groin and sends him flying into a pool of dip. He is voiced by David Lander.

Greasy - The alleged runner-up for leader. He is of Puerto Rican descent, and is the most ruthless and eager to fight of the weasels. He has greasy black hair, dark brown fur, and wears a Zoot Suit styled trench coat along with spectator shoes, a tall green zoot hat, and he carries a switchblade as his weapon of choice. He has a strong Mexican accent, Spanish seemingly being his native tongue. He dies when he loses control of his laughter and falls out of a steamroller. He is voiced by Charles Fleischer.

Psycho - The most insane and unstable of the group of weasels. He has a shrilling laugh and high-pitched voice, and gets the most joy out of the grim sense of humor the weasels share. He is the most dangerous, and attempts to kill Roger more times then any of the others. He wears a "Canadian Long Jacket" straitjacket, though it is unbuckled. He has blue eyes with yellow and white swirls that show his psychoticness, his fur is unkempt by the hairline, and he carries around a barbershop straight razor as his weapon. He is the last weasel to die, falling into a machine that flattens his body, although he proves a threat even in death as his acending angel turns a stream of dip on Roger and Jessica Rabbit. He is voiced by Charles Fleischer.

Wheezy - Wheezy is seemingly most depressed of the weasels and the most ill content with life, sickly and continually smoking heavily. Wheezy is dressed in a black vest, bowler cap, and loose black tie. With his weapon of choice a Tommy Gun, he is the seediest member of the gang, bearing resemblance to a typical mobster. He dies of a combination of laughter, and too much smoking, the later made evident by the voluminous amounts of smoke he coughs up. He is voiced by June Foray.

Stupid - Stupid is the dumbest of all the weasels with an infantile mentality and rounded, babyish features. He wears a red beanie with a propeller on top, has a pigeon-toed stance, and his weapon of choice is a bat with a nail through the top. Stupid is also the strongest of the weasels, and is used mainly for heavy lifting and hard labor. He is also overweight, while the other weasels were slim. A little slow on the uptake, he often falls over his own two feet, and although the constant butt of the other weasels' jokes, he finds a little humor in it himself. He dies from what appears to be a heart attack, caused by losing control over his own laughter. He is voiced by Fred Newman.

[edit] Character development

  • The Weasels are modeled after the weasels in the 1949 Disney's The Adventures of Ichabod and Mr. Toad.
  • There were originally supposed to be seven weasels, the sixth named "Slimey" and the seventh named "Flasher". They were edited out after the producers decided the characters wouldn't be suitable for the movie.
  • All of the weasels stayed alive then. Unfortunatly, this fact wasn`t shown in the movie.
