[edit] Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Fleshlight (third nomination)

Please don't re-open a closed deletion discussion. If you have a problem with the way that a debate was closed, take it up with the closing admin or take it to deletion review. - Aaron Brenneman 06:02, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

Please check the undeletion policy. --Rose Palmer 09:57, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
That was me by the way, using my undeclared sock. --Tony Sidaway 10:24, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
I suppose that is up there with User:HowieFeltersnatch--MONGO 10:25, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
Funny, I never thought of it. I chose the name as something anonymous-sounding, but obviously another part of my mind was thinking of completely different things (ahem!) --Tony Sidaway 10:32, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
I don't think the name I mentioned above would last long...and for good reason...it's a tad bit over the top...just trying to lighten the mood of this place.--MONGO 10:36, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
Aaron should know better than to lecture when I am busy blocking him anyway--MONGO 10:37, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
Rose...Palmer. (shakes head). I'll never get over that. It is absolutely amazing that I didn't notice it myself. --Tony Sidaway 10:51, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
Ha...well, at least you didn't use Rosy. I suppose our heads are both in the gutter.--MONGO 10:55, 13 October 2006 (UTC)
Or, at least mine is.--MONGO 11:03, 13 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Alberto Fujimori

Due to constant disputes in the article, I made the mistake of editing the article in one attempt to "lower" the dispute. I'm currently asking someone to remove my last edition. I did not have the intention of defying my ban. Thanks. Messhermit 15:37, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for letting me know. If you accidentally break your ban again, reverting yourself with a brief explanation and perhaps apology is okay. --Tony Sidaway 19:08, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
I don't understand this. Bdean's is acting in such a irresponsible way in several other pages promoting a unilateral POV about this former Peruvian president. He is already creating troubles in the List of dictators and Alberto Fujimori articles. He is now spreading using IP accounts to attack me in Wikipedia. Any ideas of how to stop this nonsense? I have already withdraw my support to a mediation with him since he does not seems to respect other people's opinion. Messhermit 00:58, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
Forget it. This has become nothing more than a “wich hunt” against my person imposed by two leftist wikipedians that hold a grudge against my person. I will refuse to answer anything due to the fact that this is nothing more than a political persecution and an attempt to subdue my freedom of speech here in Wikipedia. Messhermit 01:52, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
I'm very, very sorry to hear that, and I hear your disappointment and cannot help feeling that I am contributing to it by my inaction, which is mainly due to my current focus of attention being off Wikipedia. If he is doing what you claim, he's abusing Wikipedia to an extreme extent. Please put a notice about this on WP:ANI. I am, as it happens, a leftist who happily leaves his beliefs at the door of Wikipedia. If you are being harassed as you say, this is wrong.
My impression of bdean's edits is that he is not really doing what a Wikipedian should do. He does seem to be engaging in personal attacks. Please quote me on this. I am very busy on other (off-Wikipedia) matters but I do commend your case to the other administrators. --Tony Sidaway 03:57, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
Thanks, but I'm withdrawing myself and leaving from Alberto Fujimori and List of Dictators. It is clear for me, at this point, that there are people here that believe to be "right" in every sense of the word, twisting and adapting facts to their own personal (and who knows, maybe commercial) purposes. I have already declined a meaningless mediation, and now I formally request that every single contribution that I made in those articles be erased. I'm not going to force anyone to "my way or the highway", because I know how frustrating that is. Messhermit 13:17, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Winona Gone Shopping

Hi Tony,

I was thinking of unblocking Winona Gone Shopping (talk contribs). Since the ban, I think he's learned from his mistakes. Should I bring this up at WP:AN first? I'm not sure if it's necessary as there wasn't much of a consensus to indef. block in the first place (correct me if I'm wrong). Please let me know what you think. —Khoikhoi 21:01, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

Just a comment. User:Winona Gone Shopping had a copyvio image on their page (Peek_a_boo.jpg) uploaded in August by User:James 007, and only used on that one page. 007 has a history of bad uploads, including 'Winona Gone Shopping Logo1.jpg.' - both users edit Macedonoan/Moldovian articles. Em? I'm the last to assume bad faith, but..... --Doc 22:31, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
Hehe, well...I think he pretty much explained himself here. My point is that I doubt WGS would make any more death threats, which is the reason why he was blocked in the first place. —Khoikhoi 22:35, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
On second thought... —Khoikhoi 22:44, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
Personally, I've got a bad feeling about this. Perhaps it would be best to take it to AN, so we can get more input. --Doc 22:46, 21 October 2006 (UTC)
Alright, thanks for the advice. —Khoikhoi 22:47, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

Somebody who would choose a username such as "Winona gone shopping" obviously isn't interested in contributing to Wikipedia. --Tony Sidaway 21:35, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

I'm not so sure about that - it seems no more whimsical a name than those of User:Can't sleep, clown will eat me and User:Yuckfoo to name a couple of good contributors. But the block may well be the right thing aside from that, I'm not familiar with the case. Haukur 22:07, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
It's not whimsical really. It's an extreme and rather disgusting slur on a Hollywood actor. If "Can't sleep, clown will eat me", which I have always regarded as being on the extreme edge of acceptable usernames, is also a personal attack on some person, then I'm not aware of it. But Yuckfoo as a username is merely an amusing double entendre. --Tony Sidaway 04:06, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
Oh, ah, I wasn't aware this Winona name was a reference to a particular person. I'm bad with celebrity news. Haukur 11:16, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
"Can't sleep, clown will eat me" was originally a line from a Simpsons episode and now has a secondary meaning that could be relevant to many Wikipedians. See Can't sleep, clown will eat me for more, if interested. Newyorkbrad 04:19, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
Whatever. What we're actually discussing here is "Winona goes shopping". The Clown thing is just some irrelevant nonsense introduced by a third party and, outside perhaps the mind of one editor, has absolutely nothing to do with the case. --Tony Sidaway 04:44, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
Sorry to burge in. Well, s/he doesn't use the surname as well, so it can be considered amusing too. In any case, there are many amusing usernames in WP, and none has been blocked for that. I think what we should be discussing instead is what s/he did to deserve that indef block, or what s/he should do in order to justify being unblocked. NikoSilver 09:10, 23 October 2006 (UTC)
The main problems with the "Winona" account, in my view, are (1) that it hasn't done anything over the last months except for using his/her/its user pages as a rather cryptic and trollish weblog, and (2) that he/she/it/they have frequently been referring to him-/her-/themselves in the third person or as "we", strongly suggesting it may be an account shared by several people. "Alexander"/"Winona" also once said explicitly that his/her account had been compromised. It's of course associated with somebody who in the past used to make some decent contributions (as User:Alexander007 and earlier as User:Decius) but recently he/they has only been trolling for all I can see. There were also some pretty nasty personal attacks made through IPs clearly associated with the same person. Fut.Perf. 13:28, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

So you're saying that he/she is probably having another account and editing normally as previously, while he/she/it/they are stuck in Winona's and are better off permabanned? I'm curious what he/she will respond if I e-mail him/her in that old address I have, from the time when his/her edits had not yet become his/her/its/their... I'll do it and come back if he/she answers. NikoSilver 13:37, 23 October 2006 (UTC)

At this rate I am definitely going to have to restore my request at the page head for editors to avoid using ridiculous and intrusive formatting tricks on this page. Please show some basic decency. --Tony Sidaway 00:00, 25 October 2006 (UTC)
