[edit] copyright violation: Ted Albert Award For Outstanding Service To Australian Music

Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia! We welcome and appreciate your contributions, such as Ted Albert Award For Outstanding Service To Australian Music, but we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from either web sites or printed material. Perhaps you would like to rewrite the article in your own words. For more information, take a look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Happy editing! --User:AYArktos | Talk 01:25, 21 September 2005 (UTC)

its only a small section not the full text. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Tony Senatore (talkcontribs) 12:56, 24 September 2005 (UTC)
  • As the portion seems to be entirely a cut and paste and is more than a mere phrase it is still a copyright violation. Wikipedia does not include text where the copyright belongs elsewhere. There is a note at the bottom of the editing page which states "DO NOT SUBMIT COPYRIGHTED WORK WITHOUT PERMISSION!" Regards --User:AYArktos | Talk 09:37, 25 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] How to edit

Hi Tony Senatore. It is recommended that you use the preview button before you save; this helps you find any errors you have made, and prevents clogging up recent changes and the page history. Also, When editing an article on Wikipedia there is a small field labelled "Edit summary" under the main edit-box. It looks like this:

Edit summary text box

The text written here will appear on the Recent changes page, in the page revision history, on the diff page, and in the watchlists of users who are watching that article. See m:Help:Edit summary for full information on this feature.

When you leave the edit summary blank, some of your edits could be mistaken for vandalism and may be reverted, so please always briefly summarize your edits, especially when you are making subtle but important changes, like changing dates or numbers. Thank you.--Cyberjunkie | Talk 11:17, 24 September 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Image source/licensing for Image:Angus.png

The image you uploaded, Image:Angus.png, has no no source information. The image page currently doesn't specify who created the image, so the copyright status is therefore unclear. If you have not created the image yourself then you need to argue that we have the right to use the image on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the image yourself then you should also specify where you found it, ie in most cases link to the website where you got it, and the terms of use for content from that page. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use. Unless the copyright status is provided, the image will be marked for deletion on 24 October 2005.

This message notification has been automatically sent by NotificationBot managed and run by AllyUnion. Please leave comments regarding bot operations at AllyUnion's talk page. Please direct all comments regarding licensing information at Wikipedia talk:Images for deletion. --NotificationBot 12:28, 17 October 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Block

This account has now been blocked for 24 hours. Your continued reinsertion (sometimes as User:Tony Senatore - Angels rock historian) of unsourced images following their deletion by other admins is a disruption of Wikipedia. Continued violations will result in longer blocks.Fawcett5 17:41, 17 October 2005 (UTC)

  • Despite being repeatedly warned not to do so, you continue to upload images such as Image:Diesel (aka Mark Lizotte).jpg without any source or licence information. This is constitutes a severe disruption of wikipedia, and I am blocking this account and your "Rock historian" sock for 48 hours. If you persist in this behaviour after this block expires, you could find yourself blocked indefinitely. Fawcett5 15:40, 22 October 2005 (UTC)
  • Well, you've done it again, and this time also removing nosource tags from images. This time you are blocked for one week. Next time will be PERMANENT, no joke. Fawcett5 17:46, 28 October 2005 (UTC)

WRONG

I know Jan Fullerton is my director and we are very good friends. Warren Horton I know him very, I worked with him and I know what he did while in office. Harold Leslie White Sir I know him, he told me his life story to me and other things. Jenny Morris I have meet her and I wrote the History myself and I have written 8 years and I used some texts.

—The preceding unsigned comment was added by Tony Senatore (talkcontribs) 6 November 2005 (UTC)

Although you may know or have met these people, the issue here is that copyrighted work cannot be contributed to Wikipedia. A quick Google search reveals that your contributions have been directly copied from other web sites. For example, the Jan Fullerton article has been copied from [1] and [2], the Warren Horton article from [3], and History section of the Jenny Morris article has been copied from various descriptions of her cds, eg [4]. Please only submit your own work in future. Also, if you disagree with the deletion of an article, please discuss it at the article's Talk page. - Thejesterx 08:11, 6 November 2005 (UTC)

I have Jenny Morris CD's ok and I didn't copy anything. —The preceding unsigned comment was added by Tony Senatore (talkcontribs) 6 November 2005 (UTC)

If these are people for whom you have a personal interest, why not write articles in your own words about them. Jenny Morris is a great musician, and could have a lot written about her. I'm sure accomplished people like Jan Fullerton or Warren Horton could have interesting and informative articles written about them. If people want to read the National Library of Australia's biography of Jan Fullerton, they can read it at the National Library of Australia website. If they want to read your biography of her, they can read it on Wikipedia - but only if you write it yourself. - Thejesterx 08:26, 6 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] More Copyright Violations

Hi, I also noticed most (if not all) of the contributions you have made to Wikipedia have been copyright violations, for example Jan Fullerton, Warren Horton, Harold Leslie White Sir, Jenny Morris, etc. In future, please only contribute your own work. For more information, see Wikipedia:Copyright FAQ. - Thejesterx 07:45, 6 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Please don't edit people's user pages

Please do not edit my (or anyone else's) user page. If you have something to discuss, please put it on the User Talk page. Also, please sign your comments. Thanks. - Thejesterx 07:46, 6 November 2005 (UTC)

[edit] Excessive edits

You have made 57 commits to the Jenny Morris article in the last 4 hours. Why so many? This is excessive. My watchlist is now full of your edit history! I suggest you use the "Show preview" button if you want to make check whether an edit will look OK. Also, you could copy the article to a text editor on your PC (eg. Windows Notepad), edit it there and when you're sure you're finished, paste the text back into Wikipedia. Also, you did not tick the "This is a minor edit" box for any of your edits. I'm not going to bother checking all 57 of your edits, but I'm sure at least a few of those were for minor things. Also, it does not help that you failed to write an Edit Summary for any of your edits. --ozzmosis 13:12, 19 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Image Tagging for Image:Thechirpingcrickets.jpg

Firstly - DO NOT REMOVE the tags as they are relevant to the article's standing as per WP policy - this article DOES need cleaning up, this article DOES need references cited as content must be verifiable
