This is a subpage of my userspace. To leave a message click on the 't' link at the left of the navigation bar above to go to my talk page.

The wikilawyers and trolls always want a codified set of rules on an issue, so they can subvert the spirit while adhering to the letter. Fortunately, percentagewise, they don't account for a high proportion of Wikipedians. Most people can get by with some rough idea of what is expected, and the realisation that the system is relatively forgiving in the case of good-faith mistakes. Do we codify 'relatively forgiving'? Hell no. -charles matthews

David Gerard has put a notice on his user page. I think it's a very good idea so I've added it here. If you're an administrator and you also want to provide a service like this, include the template {{user recovery}} somewhere on your user page. Only administrators are able to provide this service.

    • Recently Jimbo said that he thought political and religious userboxes were harming the project, and asked Wikipedians to remove any they had on their userpages and to ask others to do the same. I decided to take up this suggestion, and I've been cataloguing all the users whose user or talk pages I've edited over the past year, and are still active, to see which of them do and do not use political or religious userboxes. The results (see link above) are interesting.

Take yourself back into a bygone era, when airships plowed the airways, strange beasts inhabited the depths...and my userpage looked like anybody else's.
