The Barnstar of Diligence
For your fantastic effort in fixing and resurrecting the Langston Hughes article, I award you this barnstar .:.Jareth.:. babelfish 13:37, 10 April 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Jareth, thank you so much.

I have no desire to become an administrator here at Wiki. I just really care about everything Langston Hughes and the Harlem Renaissance. My knowledge of him is to the point of being indecent and perhaps a lot nerdy.

This is overly sentimental I know, but it is the truth. There is a picture I like of Hughes by Bracher Dakar that was taken in 1966, a little more than a year before Hughes would die. The picture is of Hughes on the shores of Senegal. It appears that he is looking out at the sea, the Atlantic Ocean, looking back at a life lived, a life. There photograph warms my heart everytime I look at it.

Anyway, my affinity for Hughes and the photograph mentioned explains why I have attempted to take such care with the Wiki article.

Again,thank you.

[edit] Langston Hughes

Not exactly routine vandal patrol -- I added Langston Hughes and some other African-Americans and civil rights activists to my watchlist to patrol for racist vandalism. Disheartening to see as much of it as I do, but thanks for the thanks! --lquilter 20:48, 5 January 2007 (UTC)
