Anthony Dale Torcato, better known as Tony Torcato (born October 25, 1979, in Woodland, California, USA), is a Minor League Baseball player in the Seattle Mariners organization who is on the roster of the Tacoma Rainiers of the Pacific Coast League. He had spent his entire career until 2006 playing in the San Francisco Giants system, reaching the major leagues in 2002, and spending brief stints with the Giants in each of the next three seasons. Torcato spent the first month of the 2006 baseball season playing for the BBC Orioles (Grosseto, Italy) of the Italy's Serie A1. After agreeing to a contract with the Chico Outlaws of the Golden Baseball League, but before ever playing a game with them, Torcato signed a minor league deal with the Chicago White Sox and spent the rest of the season with their class AAA affiliate, the Charlotte Knights. He signed a minor league contract with the Mariners in November of 2006.[1]

Torcato was drafted in the 1st round (19th overall) of the 1998 MLB draft by the San Francisco Giants. He was called up by the Giants on July 26, 2002. After the 2005 MLB season Torcato had a .298 career Major League batting average in 43 games.
