Tony Richard Thaxton was born September 6, 1978 and plays drums for the rock band Motion City Soundtrack. Thaxton, originally from Mechanicsville, VA, a suburb of Richmond, Va first met the band while playing a show in Milton, Pennsylvania with his old band, Submerge. After their drummer left, the members of Motion City Soundtrack asked Thaxton to join, which he agreed to in late 2001. Thaxton was only a member for two weeks before recording the band's debut LP, I Am the Movie.
In addition to drumming, Thaxton sings backup vocals, most notably in the live version of the song "Hangman", where he sings a part originally recorded by Mark Hoppus.
Aside from drumming, Tony is a fan of the Star Wars saga and the band Ben Folds Five.
