[edit] Early career
Schibeci began his radio career on community radio stations, as well as being the announcer on the 1995 Australian TV series Gladiators. he has honed his commentary skills by commentating numerous sports such as swimming, kayaking, rugby league, basketball, kickboxing, soccer, AFL and motor sport. He is happily married with four children.
[edit] Soccer commentary
In the mid-1990s while commentating an NSL soccer game, he promised during a late stage of the season that he would tattoo a South Melbourne FC logo on his buttocks if the team made the finals. A man of his word, it came down to the final match of the home and away season a few matches later when South Melbourne FC needed a victory to qualify for the finals. The team won, forcing Schibeci to receive the tattoo (now a lifelong reminder of his bet).
Schibeci has also commentated A-League matches for SEN 1116.
[edit] SEN 1116
In January 2004, Schibeci joined new Melbourne radio station SEN 1116, as a host of World Sport Overnight. Known as the "Schibecster", his dulcet tones can also be heard on SEN 1116 hosting The Gladiators of Sport with Troy Zantuck, Howard Leigh and Stephen Peak. His show is considered among the most popular on late-night radio, and he has recently hosted SEN's daytime shows as a fill-in host. He is a possible chance for the upcoming AFL commentary team.
