Tony Moore (artist)

Michael Anthony "Tony" Moore (1978 - ) is an American comic book artist, having handled the duties of penciller, inker, and colorist on much of his own work. He is best known for his collaborations with writer Robert Kirkman on titles such as Battle Pope (2000), Brit (2003), and The Walking Dead (2003).

Tony Moore was born in 1978 in Lexington, KY, and was raised in the small town of Cynthiana, KY. He studied drawing, painting, and printmaking at the University of Louisville, though he left his studies before obtaining his degree to pursue his career as a comic book illustrator.

Although he quit as regular artist on The Walking Dead with #6, he continued to contribute to the title as cover artist through issue #24, and also illustrated the covers for the first four collected volumes of the series. Moore has been nominated for two Eisner Awards, (2004: Best New Series, The Walking Dead, and 2005: Best Cover Artist, The Walking Dead) but as of this date has not won.
