From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tony Kane is an Irish footballer. He was born on August 29, 1987 in Belfast, Northern Ireland and plays at full-back for Blackburn Rovers F.C.

He has represented Northern Ireland at under-18 and under-19 levels, and was part of Blackburn's successful Academy squad that won the national title. Kane was awarded shirt number 34 at the end of March 2006, and signed a new 2-year deal, that will keep him at Rovers until 2008, a few weeks later.

On January 30, 2007, Kane was loaned to Cercle Brugge until the end of the season. In the first half of the 2006-2007 season, Kane was on loan at Stockport.

Although playing with Northern Ireland international teams at youth level he has decided to represent the Republic of Ireland at under-21 level. [1]

In his first appearance for the Belgian side Cercle Brugge, Tony Kane was voted man of the match by the Cercle Brugge fans after a very strong début.[2] Cercle won the match, 2-0 against Zulte Waregem.
