Tony Alvarez

Antonio Enrique Álvarez [AL-vah-rez] (born May 10, 1979 in Caracas, Venezuela), is a Major League Baseball center fielder and right-handed batter who has played for the Pittsburgh Pirates in 2002 and 2004.
At 25, Álvarez was considered one of the top ten Pirates prospects both by Baseball America and ESPN. He was signed by the Chicago White Sox as a free agent before the 2005 season. He is currently playing for the Ottawa Lynx, the AAA affiliate of the Baltimore Orioles.
Alvarez is a .250 hitter with two home runs and 10 RBI in 38 games.
On December 3, 2005 Antonio married the Venezuela's actress/hostees Mariangel Ruiz, who was Miss Venezuela 2002. They are currently expecting a child due in August 2006.
