[edit] Stewart's Birthplace
There's some confusion about Stewart's birthplace--there's a number of websites that claim Rushville, IN, while a number of others claiming Columbus, IN; both include sites that are a bit more authoritative than just one person's random web posting: ESPN says Rushville, while Fox Sports says Columbus.
I'll try to do more research and find something conclusive in the next few days, but I'll mark it disputed for now. Chuck 13:06, 8 December 2005 (UTC)
- Good solution. Once you find out, let us know here, and thanks for doing the legwork. -slowpokeiv 23:01, 8 December 2005 (UTC)
- I found my copy of Tony's book, and he states that he was born in Columbus. I stand corrected. Kswheels 18:31, 11 December 2005 (UTC)

- Nice work, Kswheels. I looked in a print edition of Marquis Who's Who at my public library, and oddly enough, it claims Rushville as Stewart's birthplace, but I'd consider Stewart's own book more authoritative than Who's Who. Stewart's book on Amazon has the "search inside this book" feature, so it's easy to verify Kswheels' claim by searching on "Columbus" and "Rushville." (Apparently Stewart never even lived in Rushville until 1992!) I'm removing the disputed tags. Chuck 15:56, 13 December 2005 (UTC)
[edit] Tony Stewart's name
The following links (non wikipedia) claim that Tony Stewart's middle name is Wayne.
Unless anyone can come up with a source to the contrary, please do not change it to "Maximus".-slowpokeiv 19:45, 28 January 2006 (UTC)
- It's pretty obvious to me that "Maximus" comes from a vandal. A really annoying one at that. --D-Day Somebody talk to me. Please somebody! Anybody! 21:14, 24 February 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Name
Did Tony REALLY confirm his name is "Maximus" or "Gladiator of Speed" during the race? I doubt it myself. --D-Day(Wouldn't you like to be a pepper too?) 16:25, 23 April 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Reassessment reasoning
Downgraded from A to B class, for the following reasons:
- WP:CITE - lack of citations, no hard sources.
I would, however, recommend a peer review. -slowpokeiv 13:54, 1 August 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Vandalism
I noticed someone wrote Stewart's name as Maximus throughout the article.
To all: Please don't vandalize articles it is not funny and makes them look bad.
- You don't really think these malicious halfwits will pay attention to that, do you? Atilla the Editor 04:47, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
[edit] You coulda been #1
3 rookie season wins is pretty good. Too bad he blew a win at Lowden, which would have been his first, by running out of fuel. (Who's his crewchief, Forest Gump)? Smokey Bissoon-Dath 04:47, 9 March 2007 (UTC)
