Tony Turner, left, vice president and station manager for WYMT-TV (Hazard), and a longtime supporter and co-host of the annual Children's Miracle Network Telethon, a fund-raiser for the University of Kentucky Children's Hospital, died June 30 from complications as a result of a car accident. Staff from the UK Children's Hospital, UK Hospital, Children's Miracle Network and UK Public Relations will remember Tony for his caring and support of Kentucky's children and his friendship for more than a decade.

A scholarship fund in broadcasting has been established to award internships and scholarships to deserving and aspiring broadcasters from the mountains of Eastern Kentucky.
