[edit] Image Tagging Image:Pvo uv 790226.jpg
|
Thanks for uploading Image:Pvo uv 790226.jpg. I notice the 'image' page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you have not created this media yourself then there needs to be an argument why we have the right to use the media on Wikipedia (see copyright tagging below). If you have not created the media yourself then it needs to be specified where it was found, i.e., in most cases link to the website where it was taken from, and the terms of use for content from that page.
If the media also doesn't have a copyright tag then one should be added. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media qualifies as fair use, consider reading fair use, and then use a tag such as {{fairusein|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair_use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.
If you have uploaded other media, consider checking that you have specified their source and copyright tagged them, too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any unsourced and untagged images will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. ×Meegs 13:44, 1 May 2006 (UTC)
- Note, Image:0097moscatelli.jpg similarly lacks information on its source. Thanks. ×Meegs 13:45, 1 May 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Flag Borders
Haha, no worries mate. I'll explain how I did them (you might find a slightly easier way, but it was quick enough for me that I could create oa bordered flag in under a minute). First, download version 0.44 of Inkscape here. Install the program and run it. Next, download one of the already-created bordered flags such as this one. Open this file in Inkscape (and keep it open at all times). Download an svg flag that does not yet have a border, such as Fiji. Click on the flag that already has a border and click once on the border itself (it will be selected as one piece). Copy (CTRL-C, etc) the selection on Paste (CTRL-V, etc) the selection onto the flag of choice. Resize the border and align it properly using the arrows on the selection. Save the newly created bordered flag.
General guidelines are only border flags that have at least one side that is white. Also, don't forget to edit the Country flag alias' accordingly (for example, [1]) and change the football templates (for example, [2]) while you're at it. Good luck and let me know if you still have anymore questions =) --Palffy 01:21, 11 September 2006 (UTC)
- I meant to say 'and' instead of 'on'. Typo =) --Palffy 17:40, 12 September 2006 (UTC)
Hello. I noticed that you've been creating bordered flags such as Image:Flag of Gibraltar (bordered).svg. Two things:
- You may want to upload the images to Wikipedia commons [3], which is a repository for images such that different Wikipedia language editions can all use.
- You should keep the aspect ratio of the flags, since the official flags have different specification for their own flags. Right now I see all your flags are 600x300, which unfortunately is not correct. One thing I notice from Wikipedia is that people are very sensitive about these things, so try to get it as correct as possible.
Alright, that's all! Chanheigeorge 23:40, 17 September 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for uploading Image:Zentralstadion.jpg. I notice the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. [edit] Bordered flags
Greetings Tom
I've noticed you've been creating a number of bordered flags. Could I possibly persuade you to create one for Greenland as well? Happy editing. Valentinian (talk) / (contribs) 00:44, 18 November 2006 (UTC)
- Thanks a lot! Valentinian (talk) / (contribs) 21:55, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

- Btw, I just noticed that a few of your bordered flags turn up pretty funny in my browser (IE 6). It looks like parts of the images are missing. It seems to affect the images for Sark, Mexico, Uruguay and Pakistan, and I can't see the image for Nigeria at all. Do they look ok in your browser? Cheers.
