The Cincinnati Cyclones and the Texas Wildcatters both return to the ice in 2006-07.

The team that played in Florence, South Carolina as the Pee Dee Pride is awaiting completion of an arena project in Myrtle Beach/Conway, South Carolina.

The ECHL membership in Reno, Nevada is also awaiting completion of an arena project.

The Gulf Coast Swords membership will play in Bradenton/Sarasota.

I was looking at North American Professional Sports Teams website (www.angelfire.com/ns/galley/napsl/napsl1) and notice that you are adding at

least two teams for the 2007/2008 seasaon. They are Conway, SC. and Ontario Cal. Would like to know if this is true or not.

Also from the same website Reno Nv, will not be playing in 2006/2007, is this true?

Also from the website they have put Gulf Coast Swords, which might be playing this season, in Tamp. According to your website this team is in Sarasota, so who is right?

Thank you in advacne

[edit] About OrphanBot's deletion of the Pee Dee Cyclones logo

I thought sports logos were exempt, because it being a team logo IS a source. I think OrphanBot needs to be shut off for awhile so it can be fixed. Tom Danson 04:02, 8 August 2006 (UTC)

It is sometimes, but not always, the case that the copyright holder for a logo can be determined simply from looking at the logo. OrphanBot can't tell one case from another, so it won't tag logos as unsourced itself, but at the same time, it assumes that any logo that's been tagged by someone else is one where the source isn't self-evident. --Carnildo 06:59, 10 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Ah, you're confused

As I said, my deletions were under CSD A1/A3/A7 -- I think you've got those mixed up with CSD G1/G3/G7, based on your complaints. Try reading the CSDs again. Best wishes, Xoloz 23:44, 18 August 2006 (UTC)

[edit] About Fort Wayne Freedom

Please stop replacing my original table that I had there before. I have no problem with you doing tables for all of the other UIF teams, and I understand your need for consistency, but I assure you that I spent a lot more time on the NFL look-a-like table for the UIF Template than you did for that very basic table that you have created. I have almost done all the editing for that page, and I added most the information for that page and spent hours retreiving information. So your edit to my table can also be considered as vandalism also. Thank you. --Manningmbd 13:40, 9 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fort Wayne Freedom Update

Please update the status on this article as to if the Freedom are moving to af2, or revise your last statement saying that an announcement is expected on October 12th. Thank you. Manningmbd 01:17, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Fort Wayne af2

There is no official af2 team in Fort Wayne. You need to reread the article you cited. Until there is a formal announcement from af2, the team does not exist. Nolesrule 16:26, 2 November 2006 (UTC)

  • I've added the "{{prod}}" template to the article Fort Wayne af2, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but I don't believe it satisfies Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and I've explained why in the deletion notice (see also Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not and Wikipedia:Notability). Please either work to improve the article if the topic is worthy of inclusion in Wikipedia, or, if you disagree, discuss the issues raised at Talk:Fort Wayne af2. If you remove the {{dated prod}} template, the article will not be deleted, but note that it may still be sent to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. --Kinu t/c 06:37, 12 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Tampa Tide

First off, great job on doing an article on all the NIFL teams and as many arenas as you could find that didn't have articles! About the Tampa Tide, however. I know they will be at the Florida State Fairgrounds, but in the FSF article, you state they will play at the Bob Thomas Equestrian Center. I don't have anything to back this up, but I think it would be more likely they would play at the Expo Hall, which is where the NHL's Lightning played for the first few years of their existance. Have you seen anything saying they will play at the Equestrian Center? Thanks. Patken4 23:09, 6 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] af2 possible expansion

Please do not add cities to the possible expansion list on the af2 page without providing at least a link to a newspaper reference. Any additional cities will be removed. Nolesrule 20:01, 22 November 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Af2

Thank you for your attempts to improve Wikipedia. However, I would like to remind you that Wikipedia is not censored for minors, not even for profanity or pornography. Everyone is encouraged to remove offensive material and obscenities that are blatantly vandalism, but please do not remove/censor profanities or remove/disclaim sexually explicit material or links that are relevant to the article. In the meantime, please be bold and continue contributing to Wikipedia. Thank you! --Dubguy2131 04:31, 12 December 2006 (UTC

[edit] Orphaned fair use image (Image:FortWayneFusion.PNG)

Thanks for uploading Image:FortWayneFusion.PNG. I notice the 'image' page currently specifies that the image is unlicensed for use on Wikipedia and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable under fair use (see our fair use policy).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. [edit] American Professional Football League

I have tagged the page you created, American Professional Football League, for speedy deletion as a repost of previously deleted material. Please see Wikipedia:Deletion review/Log/2006 December 27 and Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/American Professional Football League. Since the concern was verifiable reliable sources the article should probably not be recreated without independent sources. Eluchil404 16:36, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

Hi Tom, I'm giving you one last chances at this artilce. I've moved the content to User:Tom Danson/American Professional Football League. This is subpage in your user space that you can develop the page. One source is a decent start but you need a couple more independent sources to show that this league has some notability and can verify some more of the claims. By keeping it in your userspace, you can hunt for sources on or off the web. You can run the article past me before reposting it if you want; but if you don't improve it, I'll delete it a week from now.
Consider this your last chance with this article; repeated posting of essentially the same material isn't highly thought of and would result in permanent protection of the deleted page if it went on much longer. --Robdurbar 18:52, 3 January 2007 (UTC)

I have also deleted Missouri Minutemen, Kansas Koyotes, & Iowa Blackhawks as {{db-repost}}. If you disagree with the original AFD result, you need to use deletion review. Otherwise, you should take Robdurbar's advice and address the issues raised in the AFD. If you would like me to copy these 3 pages to your userspace also, let me know, but since you reposted exact copies, I'm assuming you already have offline versions. Let me know if you have any questions. Thanks. -- JLaTondre 13:02, 4 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Stop being such a psycho about af2 expansion

If you wanted total control, you should have accepted my admin nomination. There are several unsourced cities as it is, and you actually removed a reliable active source once, which can get you blocked. I suggest you mind your own business. Tom Danson 22:22, 22 January 2007 (UTC)

Look, I made a statement on the talk page about adding new unsourced expansion items and no one objected to it and one person actually agreed with me, so I am sticking to it as a maintainer. How hard is it to actually source an expansion rumor? There's no point in randomly putting city names up, or you might as well just dump the section entirely. And I don't have the time to be aan admin here. I spend most of my time running ArenaFan.com and only glance over the AFL stuff here long enough to correct erros that have been introduced by other users. Nolesrule 01:23, 23 January 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Marycrest

Why do you keep adding the box, Current arenas in the American Basketball Association White Conference to Marycrest International University? Marycrest no longer exists, and so it isn't a current arena for anything! --Jcbutler 16:26, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

Thanks for the clarification. I added a bit to the entry about this. --Jcbutler 17:35, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] OurSportsCentral.com

This issue has been brought up by other users as well. I'm planning to do a major revision of the Shadowbot blacklist fairly soon, and this site is definitely one that I will look into removing, because, as you said, it is a valid source. Thanks! Shadow1 (talk) 23:15, 5 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Are you anti-Catholic or something?

I strongly suggest that you learn to do some research and some reading before you accuse someone of being a bigot. The nomination that you are charging me as a bigot for, was a relisting since the discussion to that point had not reached a conclusion. I would say more, but the policies and guideline suggest otherwise. Vegaswikian 22:40, 18 February 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Fair use rationale for Image:Street Love.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:Street Love.JPG. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is no explanation or rationale as to why its use in Wikipedia articles constitutes fair use. In addition to the boilerplate fair use template, you must also write out on the image description page a specific explanation or rationale for why using this image in each article is consistent with fair use.

Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any fair use images lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Yamla 23:20, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Image:Street Love.JPG

Thanks for uploading Image:Street Love.JPG. I notice the 'image' page specifies that the image is being used under fair use, but its use in Wikipedia articles fails our first fair use criterion in that it illustrates a subject for which a freely licensed image could reasonably be found or created that provides substantially the same information. If you believe this image is not replaceable, please:

  1. Go to the image description page and edit it to add {{Replaceable fair use disputed}}, without deleting the original Replaceable fair use template.
  2. On the image discussion page, write the reason why this image is not replaceable at all.

Alternatively, you can also choose to replace the fair use image by finding a freely licensed image of its subject, requesting that the copyright holder release this (or a similar) image under a free license, or by taking a picture of it yourself.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified how these images fully satisfy our fair use criteria. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on this link. Note that any fair use images which are replaceable by free-licensed alternatives will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Yamla 23:20, 8 March 2007 (UTC)

[edit] Roman Catholic musicians category

Just wanted to say i'm quite pleased that you acted so strongly aginst the deletion of the Roman Catholic musiciand category. I felt the same way. And yes certain people on Wikipedia are Anti-Catholic. I will soon put in a request for the deletion of other categories such as Muslim Musicians and Jewish Musicians etc. If we Catholics can't have one then neither can they! [edit] Original research

Original research includes things like "if you listen you'll hear it", "I've been there and seen it", etc. A claim has to be given a verifiable source. --Mel Etitis (Talk) 21:06, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

Your understanding of Wikipedia seems to be lacking here; it's not me but our policy that requires sources. If it makes you feel better to think that it was just the stubbornness of an individual that forced you to give sources, I suppose that I can't stop you — but it wasn't. --Mel Etitis (Talk) 10:05, 31 March 2007 (UTC)
