[edit] Atomic Squash

A tag has been placed on Atomic Squash, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done because the article seems to be about a person, group of people, band, club, company, or web content, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is notable. If you can indicate why Atomic Squash is really notable, you can contest the tagging. To do this, please affix the template {{hangon}} to the page and leave a note on Talk:Atomic Squash, explaining how Atomic Squash is notable. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself.

Please read the criteria for speedy deletion (specifically, articles #7) and our general biography criteria. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this.Pascal.Tesson 03:28, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] Edits to KAMB

well, precisely, I thought you were artificially justifying the creation of an article for a non-notable club. Now, I might have been wrong and if that's the case then all apologies but I sincerely think that this group does not come close to meeting WP:ORG or that there exist sufficient reliable sources to verify whatever is written about it. Pascal.Tesson 03:48, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for the references but I still believe that none of these have sufficient independence from their subject to qualify as reliable sources. Please take a look at WP:ORG and if you still feel that the deletion was unwarranted you should contact the admin who deleted the article and ask him for advice. Even if I did think I simply made a mistake, there's not much I could do now. Please also consider that at least one other unbiased experienced editor believed the subject did not have sufficient notability to remain on Wikipedia. Pascal.Tesson 04:01, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
Extra note: if you're relatively new to this, it can be a bit hard to figure out who the deleting admin was! I checked it out for you: it's NawlinWiki (talk contribs) who I am sure will answer any of your questions. Best, Pascal.Tesson 04:04, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
I'm guessing our messages crossed. Note that I know nothing about KAMB myself and only came to these pages while checking the newpages. So I don't feel qualified to really judge whether other similar articles exist that also would merit deletion. This is quite possible and in fact quite likely. In any case, I think you should probably discuss this with NawlinWiki if you want to know whether the page can be recreated. Cheers, Pascal.Tesson 04:11, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

[edit] NawlinWiki will answer

Don't lose faith: admins are pretty busy so sometimes it takes a while. I'll drop him a line to remind her but it's all about patience. I have to warn you though, I don't think he'll be much more sympathetic than I am to the Atomic Squash article because of the concerns I mentioned yesterday about notability and verifiability. I do hope that you won't hold grudges and that you'll stick around even if the article remains deleted. Best, Pascal.Tesson 21:35, 24 October 2006 (UTC)
