Tomo Kralj Tona
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Tomo Kralj Tona is a Croatian self-taught naive painter whose refined talent was granted in his earliest childhood. He has had 35 individual and 100 group exhibitions around the world and won many a prize. He has particularly gained recognition in Europe, the USA and Japan. As a prominent public figure, he has participated in various cultural enterprises, including the long time chairmanship over the Croatian Naive Arts Association.
Kralj seems to be a DaVinci-an type of a man, equally skillful in both arts and the technical field, such as designing computer systems for large corporations, or civil engineering. Regardless to the technique he uses, be it graphics, oil on the glass, acrylic or pastille, Kralj is always recognizable - in a meticulous detail, warm color palette, and in hailing the work of the Maker, which he recognizes in nature, and in human labor.
