Tommy Nuñez

Tommy Nuñez is the founder of the Tommy Nuñez foundation and a former NBA referee. He is very vocal about his humbled roots and troubled youth. He grew up in the projects. His father was absent. He was expelled from high school for disciplinary reasons. He is the father of current NBA referee Tommy Nuñez Jr.

Annually, Tommy hosts a basketball tournament which provides scholarships to youth in the Arizona area. Tommy Nunez's National Hispanic Basketball Classic (NHBC) is played every year during Labor Day Weekend, over 40 hispanic basketball teams from all parts of the US attend this annual tournament.
