Tommy Fricks

Cline Thomas Fricks aka. "Tommy", aka. "Sweet T", aka. "Papa Bunz", was born sometime in the mid 1950s in the small agricultural town of Toccoa, GA. He immediately became a favorite local son with his indelible personality, tremendous dancing talents, and athletic ability. Most notable was his curve ball from the little league mound. From his earliest years Tommy wanted to be a minister, but was constantly detoured by his insatiable propensity towards Toccoa’s most attractive debutants. This trait remains with the man to this day although his predilection has broadened in scope.

Coming from a family of modest means, Tommy was required to work while he attended school. However, Tommy did gain admittance to the South’s finest and oldest land granted University. In order to pay for such a valuable education Tommy worked the second shift through most of his college years and married his high school sweetheart the summer between his junior and senior years. The eligible women of Toccoa and the tri-county area were devastated by the news of the impending nuptials and lobbied with the prospective bridegroom to remain single thusly keeping the morals high in the poor Appalachian region. Much to the chagrin of these ladies the “North Georgia Adonis,” which he commonly was called, moved forward with the ceremony uniting him with his first bride.

The first years out of college were hard for the young couple. Tommy opened his own landscaping business, but the jobs were few and far between with the exception of the local Methodist Church’s Women’s Auxiliary who hired Fricks Landscaping to maintain the church grounds mostly so they could view young Tommy shirtless digging in the garden during Toccoa’s infamously hot summers. Through Tommy’s tenacious spirit and warm personality Frick’s Landscaping finally thrived, but unfortunately for the woman of Toccoa the marriage did not due to lack of enough money to keep her happy.

Again a single man located in a region that was indeed an impediment to his professional progress young Fricks started eyeing more lucrative locales to the vexation of the local females. Footloose and fancy free this consummate ladies man was wooing business owners (and their secretaries) from Marietta, GA to Greenville, SC. His first 5 years in business he had won 15 landscaping awards and most likely the hearts of at least twice that many women.

Through many dangers, toils, and snares Tommy emerged Northeast Georgia’s finest landscaper earning accolades far and wide. Once he had made his name in one profession the industrious Mr. Fricks decided to do the same in Real Estate. Through past liaisons with one Gregg “Pop” Smith, Tommy made his foray into Real Estate working for a developer in Anderson, SC. Although his reputation was notoriously associated with other Toccoans he was given exception due to his unparalleled ability to attract qualified women to buy Real Estate from him.

Tommy is currently thriving as a Sales Executive at CCI feeling both extreme highs as leading Salesperson and extreme lows as he has been recently forced to give up incoming phone calls for his perpetual tardiness. He is the self-proclaimed “lead dog” in the CCI outfit although that that title has been disputed by his colleagues sighting that the lead dog’s sales tactics definitely has “fleas.” Tommy’s Sales Manager repeatedly taunts the silver-tongued (and silver-haired) “lead dog”, referencing the large amount of time he spends licking himself while resting on the porch.

Among Tommy’s current interests due to his new found lucrative career is buying oversized Television sets, drinking copious amounts of beer before dinner and while bowling, and promoting Toccoa’s most acclaimed recording artist “B-SHOC.” Tommy can regularly be found out and about enjoying the Anderson scene with individuals half his age listening to rap and hip-hop while incorporating dance moves from half a century ago. His eccentric dance moves have even influenced the Lacoste wearing, Thug loving, Trans Am driving Rapper from Toccoa (B-Shoc) to offer Tommy a position as a back up dancer during the SC swing of his most recent tour promoting his new album “Shocaholics.” Tommy has turned down this offer as it would not allow him to focus on his Real Estate career and most likely would not sit well with his leash-holding wife Kathy who often has to heel him back to reality.

As many biographies and commentaries written about individuals in their fifties include most of the subjects' more interesting life stories, in the case of Mr. Fricks, those that know him best know that the best stories in the life of this remarkable character have yet to be penned.
