Tomasz Hajto (born October 16, 1972 in Maków Podhalański) is a Polish footballer who is currently with ŁKS Łódź. He plays as a defender.

Having begun his career playing for Halniak Maków Podhalański, he moved to Góral Żywiec before making his big break in 1991 with Hutnik Kraków. His prowess as a youngster was noticed by many, and in 1993/94 he was transferred to Górnik Zabrze.

Hajto was soon to create interest from other countries, most particularly Germany and England, but it was to the former that he was first transferred, spending the duration of the 2004/05 season at 1. FC Nürnberg, having spent the allotted three years of his contract at his previous club, FC Schalke 04. Looking a fair candidate for a contract extension, Hajto was involved in an incident involving a cigarette lighter which alienated him from his boss. His contract was quickly terminated and he was picked up by Southampton. In January 2006 his contract with Southampton was cancelled, enabling him to sign for Derby on an eighteen month contract, however this deal was also terminated early, after only four months at the club.

On February 17 2007 in Lodz, Hajto driving a Chrysler 300C fatally hit a 74 year old woman. He was sober, and speeding. The women barged on to the street in a blind point of a very dangerous crossing, Hajto didn't had the chance to react. By admitting to plain guilty, he avoided 8 years in prison.

Hajto participated in the 2002 Football World Cup in Korea and Japan. He has scored 4 goals in 40 caps for Poland, as of December 2005. He is married and has one son.
