Tom Wilson (musician)

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tom Wilson is a Canadian rock musician from Hamilton, Ontario.[1]

A veteran of the Canadian music scene, Wilson has been a writer and performer for many years. Wilson's eclectic musical style has ranged from the psychobilly punch of the Florida Razors, to the western/roots style of Blackie and the Rodeo Kings and the funk/blues inspired rock of Junkhouse.

In 2001 Wilson released a solo album titled Planet Love which featured the hit "Dig It". Writing and performing as a band has remained open-ended and Junkhouse has continued to perform occasionally in Canada.

Tom’s career with the Juno award winning Blackie and the Rodeo Kings has flourished with their three releases on label True North Records, High or Hurtin (1996), Kings of Love (1999) and their recent album BARK! (2003). In support of the album Wilson, along with bandmates Stephen Fearing and Colin Linden, criss-crossed North America including a tour across Canada with country legend Merle Haggard.

Tom Wilson has established himself as a respected songwriter. His songs have been performed by a growing list of artists and collaborators, including: Colin James, Stephen Fearing, Adam Gregory, Billy Ray Cyrus, Craig Northey, David Ricketts and Edwin. Numerous Tom Wilson songs have been used in television, commercials and motion pictures.
