Tom Whitlock

Tom Whitlock is a songwriter and lyricist best known for his Academy Award and Golden Globe winning song "Take My Breath Away" from the movie Top Gun, which he co-wrote with Giorgio Moroder. The duo produced four other Top Gun songs (including the Kenny Loggins hit "Danger Zone").

Whitlock and Moroder also co-wrote the official theme for the 1988 Olympics in Seoul, South Korea. "Take My Breath Away" was recently recut by Jessica Simpson, selling another 6 million records.

Whitlock currently resides in Springfield, Missouri.
