Tom Vogt

Tom Vogt is a German computer security expert and game developer hobbyist.
His primary contributions to the computer security field are his involvement in Security-Enhanced Linux and his research on virus propagation and malware development, some of which has not yet been made public.
He was also involved in the DeCSS affair, and was among those sued by the DVD CCA. His DeCSS website was among the top sites visited and cited on the topic, and hosted the mailing list that was used by the defendants and their supporters. Vogt was active in the digital civil rights movement for several years, and worked with others on the creation of a European EFF branch, which failed but laid the groundworks for the later founding of EDRI.
As a game developer, Vogt has published several online games, including SpellMaster and BattleMaster. He has also contributed to many other computer games in various positions ranging from beta tester to level designer.
