[edit] Career

Born Tom Vernon Kell on May 10, 1981, he signed to small label Tummy Touch in 2001 having spent the previous eight years writing and recording in his parents' garage.

Vek's debut Album We Have Sound was recorded whilst he completed a graphic design degree. The album, which has been described as raw garage rock, driven by subtle electronic touches and a backbone of funk, was finished mid-2004 yet wasn't pressed until 2005 when Island Records licensed it through Go! Beat Records, home to David Holmes and Portishead. The record was subsequently licensed through Universal Records to Startime International for a North America release.

Vek is currently working on a new album to be released Summer 2007. He will continue with the occasional live performance during this year's festival period.
