Thomas Allen Thayer (Tom) was a center/guard in the National Football League for the Chicago Bears and the Miami Dolphins. He won a Super Bowl as a member of the 1985 Chicago Bears.

He is currently the commentator on WBBM-(AM) for Chicago Bears football broadcasts and contributes to the Steve Dahl show on WCKG-FM in Chicago.

Tom graduated from the Cathedral of Saint Raymond grade school in May of 1975. He then attended Joliet Catholic High School and graduated in 1979. Tom helped the the Catholic High "Hilltoppers" to win consecutive 4A Illinois State football championships in 1977 and 1978.
