Tom Peterson

Tom Peterson was a prominent television weatherman at KCAU-TV in Sioux City, Iowa. He was a popular television personality in the Sioux City area.

Tom Peterson started at KCAU-TV during the 1970s. He was remembered for his trademark flip of his pointer stick during his weathercasts. Tom Peterson always managed to keep the weather broadcast light-hearted and fun, even during the most serious weather situations. Peterson served as weatherman at until his untimely death in a car accident in 1994. Tom Peterson was buried at Logan Park Cemetery.
Tom Peterson also served as director of the Sioux City Community Theatre. In his memory, the Sioux City Community Theatre holds the annual Tom Peterson Memorial Festival.
