The Toldi trilogy is an epic poem trilogy written by the great Hungarian poet János Arany.

It consists of three parts:

  • Toldi (1846)
  • Toldi szerelme (Toldi's Love) (1879)
  • Toldi estéje (Toldi's Night) (1848)

The trilogy was inspired by the legendary strong Miklós Toldi, who served in the Hungarian King Louis I of Hungary's army in the 14th century.

The whole trilogy reflects the genius writer's superb use of the Hungarian language.
