[edit] Synopsis
(Japanese names are in Western order with corresponding Japanese writing in parentheses.)
The series tackles a world which is under Tokyo's underground railway system aptly called the Underground (地下世界, chika sekai). The people living there are called Elemental Users because they can manipulate various elements.
When the Priestess of Life, Ruri Sarasa (ルリ・サラサ), and her bodyguard, Gravity User Chelsea Rorec (チェルシー・ローレック) escape to the surface and take refuge with swordsman Rumina Asagi (浅葱留美奈 Asagi Rumina) and his bespectacled best friend Ginnosuke Isuzu (五十鈴銀之助 Isuzu Ginnosuke), the lives of the two boys are never the same after Rumina was killed during a battle with a henchman then resurrected by Ruri.
They find out that Ruri is a very important person in the Underground and is being pursued by evil powers there. Grateful for Ruri and his newfound Wind powers, Rumina vows to protect her, even if it means going to the Underground to rescue her from her eventual captors before she gets sacrificed.
[edit] Characters
[edit] Rumina Asagi:
Rumina is a high school student, and is the type that is always getting into fights. He's pretty good at it too! But not good enough. One day he encounters two strange girls who change his life forever. In an effort to protect the cute Ruri from harm, Rumina fights hard, but eventually loses. Ruri's powers of life revive him, and with new life comes the amazing ability to control wind powers. Rumina joins Chelsea in protecting Ruri and joins their battle in the Tokyo Underground!
[edit] Chelsea Rorec:
Chelsea is Ruri's bodyguard, and accompanies her when escaping from the Underground. Chelsea controls powers related to gravity, and has a personality to match. She is very dedicated to her task of protecting Ruri, and would gladly lay down her life - in fact she spends much of the early episodes bashing Rumina on the head for being too familiar with Ruri. Chelsea's gravity-power is very strong, and she is a tough opponent.
[edit] Ruri Sarasa:
Ruri is known as the "Inochi no Miko," or the Shrine Maiden of Life. She is very polite and kind, and is the type to address everyone with the honorific "-sama." She's very compassionate, and likes Rumina a lot. This is good, because he likes her too :) Ruri uses her life powers to bring back Rumina when he is killed while trying to protect her and Chelsea. Her unusual powers make her a target for evil forces in the Underground.
[edit] Ginosuke Isuzu:
Ginosuke is Rumina's best friend since childhood. He has no special magical powers, but he is very intelligent, but not 'street smart'. He comes up with a very useful weapon. His personality is somewhat timid, but he has a lot of common sense, and can be very fierce if he has to be. Ginosuke always wears his very thick glasses that change his appearance so much that his friends can't recognize him with out them. He's really very cute without his glasses.
[edit] THE COMPANY
The company contains thousands of elemental magical users, and most are bad. They wish to do complete destruction to those who dwell on the surface. Their hatred for the surfacers is because they are thought to have abandoned them, which really isn't true since only the scientists actually knew of their existence underground. They also are the people who want to awaken the dragon to complete their revenge and are willing to sacrifice Ruri, or also known as the "Maiden of Life".
