[edit] Song information
"Together Again" is the official first single released in the U.S. The song was a tribute by Jackson to friends who had recently passed from AIDS. The song became Jackson's eighth number one on the Billboard Hot 100 and peaked at number eight on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Singles & Tracks chart. It was her only US #1 hit from the Velvet Rope album. The single sold nearly six million copies worldwide, and became one of the biggest selling singles from a female artist in the history of the UK singles chart. The song is Jackson's biggest international single, peaking in the top ten of many countries.
[edit] Music videos
There were two videos made for this song the Album Version (Seb Janiak) and Deeper Remix (Rene Elizondo). The album version is a dance video that shows Janet and friends having fun in Africa and animals such as, elephants, giraffe, wildcats surrounding them as they perform. Surrounded by nature, Janet remembers the friends she has lost and rejoices in their memory. "The Deeper Remix" shows Janet in an apartment remembering the friend in the video.
