Todd Romero, better known as Steve Romero from Denver, Colorado is an employee of World Wrestling Entertainment, working as a backstage interviewer and a back-up commentator for the SmackDown brand. Romero also co-hosted WWE Velocity as its play-by-play commentator, along with then-color commentator Josh Mathews.
Romero has spent 15 years in the broadcasting business, including 10 working for KUSA-TV in Denver, where he covered two Super Bowls and a pair of Stanley Cups. Steve then became the sports director for the KSHB-TV in Kansas City, Missouri before joining WWE. Romero would make his WWE television debut on December 18, 2004.
On the April 10, 2006 edition of RAW, Romero appeared on television interviewing Kane due to the fact that Todd Grisham had the night off. Romero made another RAW brand appearance this time taking over from Jonathan Coachman as color commentator on the September 10, 2006 edition of Heat.
In August of 2006, Romero replaced Todd Grisham as the host of the in-commercial update segments for Canadian viewers, where upcoming shows, announcments, and autograph signings in Canada are hyped.
