[edit] Plot synopsis
Harlan Banks (Seagal) is a Robin Hood-type thief who is trying to go straight. In one last job, Max (Tighe) wants him to drive an armored truck through Las Vegas, but what Banks isn't told is that he is really going to be a getaway driver in an armed robbery. As a result, Harlan lands in prison. There he meets Ice Cool (Treach), and the two break out so Harlan can seek revenge on those who framed him.

[edit] Legal Troubles
The producers of Today You Die have filed lawsuits against Seagal because of experiences during the filming. Producers at Nu-Image and Kill Master Productions have alleged that Seagal, while filming this and Mercenary for Justice, arrived at the set late, left early, and re-wrote scripts without their permission, among other things [1]. Seagal disputed the suit, and went as far as filing a lawsuit of his own against producers claiming fraud and breach of contract. As of January 2006, it appears the legal issues have not yet been resolved.
[edit] Trivia
- The three cars from the movie, the white Volkswagen Jetta, the orange Mazda RX-7, and the Toyota Supra were borrowed from the movies The Fast And The Furious, and 2 Fast 2 Furious. And the prison break scene was actually from the movie The Undisputed when Ving Rhames's character was sent to prison.
