Tocai Rosso

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

There are no precise data regarding the origin of the Tocai Rosso. The experts assimilate it to the Sardinian wine Cannonau.

It is cultivated in the Monti Berici hills (Vicenza) and in east Veneto. The soil where it is cultivated is quite clayey, deep and well fertilised.

The bunch is stocky, pyramid-shaped trunk with one or two extremely well-defined branches. The berries are large, with a thick waxy but fragile skin. Irregular violet-blue colour. The pulp is succulent, colourless and sweet.
