Toby Creswell

Toby Creswell is an Australian journalist and pop-culture writer.
Over the past 30 years he has written extensively about all aspects of popular culture for national and international magazines. In 1985 he became editor of Australian Rolling Stone and remained so until 1991. The following year he started, in partnership, the publishing company Terraplane Press/Terraplanet and was the editorial director of the magazines Juice, HQ, Monument, Big Hit and Australian Style. He has also worked in television, producing a variety show for SBS and a series of 4 documentaries on Australian music.
His books include Too Much Ain't Enough (Random House), a biography of singer Jimmy Barnes; The Real Thing (with Martin Fabinyi) (Random House), Love is In the Air (ABC Books), 1001 Songs You Must Hear Before You Die (Hardie Grant), 1001 Australians (with Samantha Trenoweth) (Pluto). His band Surfside 6 recorded the seminal post-punk 45 "Cool in the Tube" for Phantom.
