[edit] Tobias and Eileen Snape
The information here is all in Eileen Prince, who was his wife. We have a page for James and Lily Potter, which has rather more information than is on either of these two pages, and works well. SHould these two be combined? Sandpiper 08:50, 18 November 2005 (UTC)
- Seconded. I'll get on it, theoretically. --Kizor 23:22, 3 January 2006 (UTC)
- Support for merger there are already far too many little stub articles of minor HP characters. Merge away old boy. Death Eater Dan 19:33, 23 January 2006 (UTC)
- Strong oppose: It survived AfD. I find this to be an attempt to circumvent that consensus in an avenue where far less editors will being to comment on it. savidan(talk) (e@) 05:13, 26 March 2006 (UTC)
- Strong support for merge I doubt either Eileen or Tobias will make an appearance in Book 7, and that this will be all the information we ever get on them. A nice, longer article could be made about both of them. Change the title to "Eileen Prince and Tobias Snape." --Fbv65edel (discuss | contribs) 16:58, 9 April 2006 (UTC)
- Some support for merger I see how a combined article would be more comprehensive, and there are many stubs on minor characters....but wouldn't merging just open up the whole debate about using plot spoiler identities as redirects? Just something to consider. Fsotrain09 00:05, 24 April 2006 (UTC)
- Strong support for merge We hardly know anything about the character. And all we know is related to Eileen as well. In fact, I would prefer deleting both articles and adding the information in the Severus Snape article. Neville Longbottom 09:13, 17 May 2006 (UTC)
- Strong support for merge The Tobias article barely qualifies as a stub - and yet no more information can be added to it, because there is no canonical information to add. The James and Lily Potter article provide an excellent example of how this should be done, and linked references to Tobias Snape and Eileen Prince should be redirected to a common article. The claim that "it survived AfD" and that this merge discussion is therefore "an attempt to circumvent that consensus" is not relevant to the current merge discussion, which is now showing a clear consensus away from the alleged consensus of the AfD. --T-dot 15:04, 18 June 2006 (UTC)
[edit] Misleading statements
(Putting aside the controversy on whether to merge with the Eileen Prince article...)
This article seems to imply that Tobias Snape was a Wizard of Muggle parentage. In fact, it is stated in Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince that Tobias was himself a Muggle. Suggest rewording to make this clearer.
Also, this article should not state that the adult male in the vision was Tobias Snape; it is unknown whether that man was Tobias or Severus Snape. Many fans believe it was Severus and wonder who the boy in the vision was. But regardless of fan speculation, the man in the vision is not named in canon, so this article should not try to add facts to the canon.
