[edit] Expanded Overview

The episode starts off in Terri McGregor's house with her father remarking about how the boys would be "lining up for miles" for his daughter. She bluntly remarks that the guys don't notice her and wouldn't want to dance with a "fat cow". Despite her father's insistancy that she's beautiful, she still decides not to go.

Later at school, Terri meets up with Spinner, who is asking to borrow her geography notes. Asking her if she was going to the dance that night, Terri responds by lying and saying that she couldn't because of her father. Spinner leaves and is subsequently bombarded by Paige asking him to the dance. Pushing her off saying he had to get to his locker, Paige meets with Ashley and Terri learning that Spinner wanted to go with Terri. With this much to the satisfication of Paige, Ashley begins to question the legitamacy of Terri's excuse when Paige defends her saying that "if she doesn't want to go, she doesn't have to".

Outside of the school, Sean is dropped off by his older brother, Tracker. In her Media Immersion class, Emma realizes that her friends, Toby, J.T., and Manny are not going to the dance and she has nobody else to go with. Just as she mentions this, Mr. Simpson walks in with Sean and explains that he was enrolled at the school a few months last year until he moved up north. When asked to tell the class a bit about himself, Sean simply responds by saying "No" and sits down, much to the class' shock and confusion.

In their English homeroom, Paige starts getting jealous of Spinner's liking of Terri. While setting up the gym for the dance, Ashley confronts Terri and asks her what the real reason behind her planned absence. After a series of questions, Terri informs Ashley of her weight problem and that she'd be there if there was a way she could "lose 10 pounds in six hours", much to the enjoyment of Paige who overhears the conversation. Ashley informs Terri that she needs a bit more self confidance and that she'll go over to her house to dress her up. Paige futily attempts to prevent Terri from going by encouraging her choice, but ends up deciding that she should be involved in the makeover to keep control of the situation.

In English class, Emma becomes more and more attracted to the mystique of Sean, much to the detastation of Toby, who has a crush on her. J.T. then gives Toby a list of porn sites he found, informing Toby it was a rite of passage. At Toby's house, his father and his step-mother eventually leave J.T. and Toby alone in the house. Once alone, they access Toby's computer and decide to check out some of the URLs however, the connection untimely drops.

At Terri's house, Ashley and Paige are preparing Terri for the dance, while she remains self conscience about the dress she was wearing. Proded by Ashley and Paige's words of encouragement, Terri finally decides to go but wishes that she wasn't so nervous. When Ashley leaves early to set up the dance, Paige remains and decides to sabatouge Terri by convincing her to get drunk.

Back at Toby's house, the connection comes back up. They start browsing the porn sites when Toby's parents come home and interrupt them. It's revealed later that Toby and J.T. were forced to watch porn sites with Toby's parents (including sites with men), to teach them a lesson about objectifying women.

Paige is calming down Terri with a bottle of Sherry, while setting up Terri for disaster by giving her all the wrong pointers and getting her more and more drunk. They arrive at the party and Terri, who is staggering, barely makes it inside. Terri informs her, good friend Paige, that she likes Spinner but doubts her chances with him. Hearing Terri talk about how good a friend she was to her, Paige realizes the error of her ways and decides to actually aid Terri.

In the gym, Emma patrols the dancefloor alone, looking for somebody to dance with. She spots Sean and after during his physical altercation with Jimmy, she asks him to dance to which he accepts. The very drunk Terri now gets a dance from Spinner but is less than graceful. Her embarrassing behaviour climaxes when she falls down, and promptly leaves to throw up. Paige takes the opportuinity and ends up dancing with Spinner.

It's the next school day and Spinner meets up with Terri and after returning her Geography notes, Paige informs her that he was going to use her notes from now on.
