[edit] Good news involving images

The entire TNA picture archive on TNApics.com has been made available officially for use in Wikipedia. I got the word personally from Marcus Cygy, the man who runs the site. I have been uploading these pictures previously on Fair Use rationale, but now that we have express permission, I have created a new Template for all TNA photos from the TNApics website, "TNA-photo".


Copyrighted

This photograph is an official promotional photograph from Total Nonstop Action Wrestling. The original source is the photography website of the promotion, TNApics.com, who is the copyright holder of the image. The use of a small number of low-resolution TNA images

  • to illustrate articles about the subjects of the images in question,
  • when a free alternative does not exists and can not be created,
  • on the English-language Wikipedia, hosted on servers in the United States by the non-profit Wikimedia Foundation,

is believed to fall under the fair use clause of United States copyright law. Any other uses of this image may be copyright infringement. See Wikipedia:Fair use for more information.

Total Nonstop Action Wrestling recognizes and accepts the use of their pictures on Wikipedia, as long as they are credited as the source of said photos. However, the terms of the permission do not include third party use.

I have an idea for a newly-colored template. The text within is the same, though I used a text © to save some bandwidth weight. The colors are based on the colors of the TNA logo. --Kitch 03:21, 22 January 2006 (UTC)
