Barnstar

The Original Barnstar
For your excellent copyediting of Halo: Combat Evolved, I award you The Original Barnstar. Great job! JimmyBlackwing 17:28, 20 September 2006 (UTC)

This Spartan Life

I would like to thank you for taking an interest in the This Spartan Life articles. I thank you for your contributions and I would just like to say that you definitely are the defining member, as far as I can tell, of the Wikipedia Machinima community. Once again, many thanks to you and your editing skills. And congratulations on the Barnstar; quite an honor! --Chromium 01:19, 22 September 2006 (UTC)

And thank you for helping Downskated and I when we stray. We plan on being general machinima editors soon; This Spartan Life is just where we come from. --Chromium 01:00, 23 September 2006 (UTC)
Oh, and one last thing - I noticed that Fire Team Charlie is a little weak; I might be able to help there. --Chromium 02:10, 23 September 2006 (UTC)

Image Copyright Problems

I am sorry that the descriptions were worded poorly; they are not for exclusive use on the Wikipedia, and the producer, who gave these to me, understands that an image on Wikipedia is Fair Use. I apologize if there are any problems due to this. --Chromium 23:20, 23 September 2006 (UTC)

Thanks for changing them. And I'm sorry I put them under video game screenshots, I didn't see the machinima category. --Chromium 01:07, 24 September 2006 (UTC)

Image problems

Oh, sorry about that image. It's alright to delete, that shouldn't be up on Wikipedia. And you have to go to the This Spartan Life Talk page soon ... just a reminder. Thanks for the warning. --Chromium 03:14, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

Ah, yes. I wanted to know if it was all right to edit together a few of the images on the page to save space, without needing a new picture. --Chromium 02:28, 2 October 2006 (UTC)
Ah, sorry, I didn't see that. Thanks, I'll make sure to get a new screenshot of one of the episodes. And Downskated and I will be on anti-vandal patrol, what with the new season of RvB and all, just to help you out. --Chromium 02:47, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

Tenses

Thanks for reading and replyign regarding tenses. Please look at the page Gotham City and examine the conflict going on. I've been trying to build the page as Out-Of-Universe, and ChrisGriswold, has been reverting to a more in universe version. Out of universe, world war 2 is the past, as I've stated in my edit summaries. the character's history, being a DC Comics character, ties both in and out of universe to the real world. Chris seems insistent that any overlap must favor mushing history into a lump, while I'm trying to force Out-of-universe on the page. thank you. ThuranX 17:46, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

Please take a look now. I beleive I've emphasized my 'out-of-universe' far more clearly now, and since those series are no longer current, the writign reflects the creative efforts of the staff in the past tense, as they've clearly finished creating if the issue is in hand. This avoids a vast majority of the messiness of this tense policy, which really does need revision. but that's another debate.ThuranX 18:46, 1 October 2006 (UTC)
Thanks for the assist. I didn't bother to cite each and every issue of JSA, because there are at least half a dozen scattered through the series which show characters visiting Alan Scott at the GBS building, and I'm not going to dig our my 87 issue run to find exactly which ones. I've got a lawn to mow and curriculum to write, and then have to prep for my fast tonight. What does a Jew say when sitting down to dinner after Yom Kippur? Yum, Kippers! (yes, I'm jewish, so a pun is permitted.) ThuranX 19:07, 1 October 2006 (UTC)

DYK

Updated DYK query On 2 October 2006, Did you know? was updated with a fact from the article Machinima.com, which you created. If you know of another interesting fact from a recently created article, then please suggest it on the "Did you know?" talk page.

Red vs Blue Characters

I think a brief, 2 sentence summary of what the character is essentially about is needed, as I feel the current format is actually harder, not easier, for someone without no prior information about the show to navigate through. However, I'll try to put such information in the lead and keep it within the terms of the MOS. Joylock 07:25, 2 October 2006 (UTC)

I actually don't own the DVDs. I just think "personality" is too vague without a modifier to clarify it. Is he hyper? Obnoxious? Flatulent? There are many different kinds of personalities that could be considered "annoying". I sympathize with your attempts to avoid unprofessional edits, but I'm not trying to push my own pet theory here. I'm just looking for one word that encompasses the character in a nutshell, and garrulous really fits the bill. Joylock 02:00, 3 October 2006 (UTC)

Re: Editor review thanks and a question for you

I am glad you have checked my review of you, hopefully you have found it slightly helpful! As for the nomination, thanks but currently I am not interested in adminship. Maybe in the future, but for now I am not in need of adminship tools. Thanks anyways, it is good to know others think you are doing fine :-) -- ReyBrujo 04:15, 14 October 2006 (UTC)

My RfA

Announcement: It's an administrator!

TKD, thanks for your support on my request for adminship.

The final outcome was a robust 62/1/1, so I am now an administrator. If you ever have any questions about my actions, please do not hesitate to contact me.

Thanks again, Chris Griswold

Pre-Promotion Congrats

Well, in approximately 10-12 hours, you will officially become an administrator on the English Wikipedia. I want to congratulate you on your perfect RfA (34/0/0 so far), and I wish you best of luck as admin. If you have any questions about admin-related tasks, feel free to contact me. Nishkid64 01:37, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

Godmode-lite

Hi, I noticed on your RfA that you've been using Godmode-lite rollback feature. I've tried installing this in my monobook to no avail. Do you think you would know what the problem is? Thanks for any help. Mike | Talk 05:08, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

Gah! Still won't work for one reason or antother. User:Mike1/monobook.js Thanks for your help, though! - Mike | Talk 15:17, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
Yes, I would appreciate that thanks. I really don't know the first thing about JavaScript :-) - Mike | Talk 22:58, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
It works! Thanks a lot for your help! Hope you enjoy the admin tools. Mike | Talk 23:04, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
One last thing--the edit summary doesn't seem to work. It seems to be there in the script, however. Mike | Talk 23:12, 20 October 2006 (UTC)
Thanks a lot for the link and for I'll your help! I'll try posting there. The feature works fine, there's just no edit summary. You know how RfAs are, so I want to get that working so I don't getting people opposing me over edit summaries the next time I give it a try. Mike | Talk 01:15, 21 October 2006 (UTC)

Sorry to bother you, but it seems to be acting up again. I recently installed popups in my monobook, but they caused dreadful lags so I reverted back your exact edit fixing godmodelight. For some reason, however, it doesn't seem to work now. Any help would be greatly appreciated :-) - Mike | Trick or Treat 03:40, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

That must've been it, seems to work now. - Mike | Trick or Treat 19:22, 24 October 2006 (UTC)

Congratulations

You're now an admin. I recommend using the new tools conservatively, especially at first. The most valuable skill is figuring out how to de-escalate a situation rather than making it worse. But there are plenty of backlogs, so dig into those as you get familiar with the tools. Have fun and again, congrats. - Taxman Talk 12:07, 20 October 2006 (UTC)

Help with irrational copyvio tag

Hey, TKD. I wanted to congratulate you for gaining adminship and ask you if you could help me out. For the last three weeks I've been attempting to get Pilot (House) through FAC. So low and behold a new user shows up and tags the article for copyvio because the original version of the article was a copyvio from an article on The TV IV. Now am insane or is it ridiculous to call the article a copyvio. Granted it was a copyvio, but since I revised it, it is no longer a copyvio. Yet when I stated this in my edit summary he replied "see bagzilla bugzilla:507 all edit copyvios". This page means nothing to me, I can head or tails of it. I'm not sure exactly how to go about this, I asked him to resolve in the article's talk page before adding the tag again. But I half-think that he's going to simply add the tag back in without attempting to converse. So I was wondering if you'd take a look at the situation and resolve it before my FAC gets pushed back another week. :) The Filmaker 01:41, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

  • Thanks for sorting that out for me. :) The Filmaker 21:21, 22 October 2006 (UTC)
    • Hey, it's alright, just let me know what I have to do to get that copyvio tag down and to remove the copyviolating text. Hey, you know what? You can make it up to me by handling another situation I've run into. :) Over at the Star Wars Episode IV: A New Hope talk page, two members are ganging up on me about a reference that they claim should not be there because it is confusing. The reference is on the changes between the different releases of the films. It contains photographs and such on the changes from the original version, to the special edition version, to the DVD version. The reference is located within the Special Edition section. They claim that since the citation does not solely have to do with the special edition version, that it should not be in the Special Edition section. I can find where their reasoning is coming from, so I was hoping you'd run over and sort this out for me? :) The Filmaker 14:35, 31 October 2006 (UTC)

My RFA!

TKD, thank you so much for your support for my RfA. I passed with a vote tally of 61/0/1. I am honored that the consensus was to allow me the added privilege of the admin mop. I appreciate your support and kind words on my RFA! --plange 23:06, 22 October 2006 (UTC)

Isn't the Sgt Johnson (for Halo) large enough for it's own page? Just wondering.
