[edit] Synopsis

Spoiler warning: Plot and/or ending details follow.

[edit] Superboy and the Legion of Super-Heroes

During their first date, Superboy and Wonder Girl are interrupted by a wormhole that sends Superboy into the 31st century and the Legion of Super-Heroes. The trauma of time travel causes some memory lapses for Superboy, as he cannot recall the exact moment of his departure from the present. He spends five months in the future, fighting the Fatal Five Hundred before Saturn Girl is able to use her powers to figure out when Superboy was from.

Superboy reemerges from the portal, several seconds after he had left, wearing Superman's costume. He is quickly followed by the Persuader, but he and Wonder Girl hold him off in time to recruit the rest of the Titans for a trip to the future.

In the future, the Legion and Titans engage in a lengthy battle in which the two teams end up in the time stream. The Legion is lost in time, due to the events of Infinite Crisis, and the Titans end up ten years into their future.

[edit] Titans Tomorrow

The Titans end up at Titans Tower in San Francisco. Since the Tower's security only allows access to past and present Titans via DNA, they are allowed access. The statue of the founding Titans has been replaced by a statue featuring the current team. They also find the "Hall of Mentors", which includes statues of Ares, Lex Luthor and a shattered statue of Batman.

[edit] "We're freakin' bad guys!"

The Teen Titans arrival doesn't go unnoticed by the present Titans, and they immediately fight each other. Only the future Bart Allen remembered the trip through time and is able to end hostilities. After a short explanation, the Titans agree to let the Teen Titans stay the night and they would try to figure something out in the morning.

Tempted to find out his future, Superboy decides to ask his future self, the new Superman, if there was ever a problem with being related to Luthor. Instead, he finds the team has captured Deathstroke and Superman has burned his arm off.

After telling the other Teen Titans what he saw, they decide to leave the Tower and regroup elsewhere. The adult Titans try to stop them, but are only able to capture Robin.

Tim's future self, Batman, brings him to the Batcave and his cemetery, which features almost all of the original Batman's rogues as well as Bruce Wayne, Selina Kyle and Alfred Pennyworth. Unable to convince the teen Tim that he is still a good guy, he decides to mindwipe the Titans, starting with Tim.

[edit] Back to the present

Meanwhile, the rest of the Teen Titans head to Keystone City, which has been transformed into a large Flash museum. They go to the cosmic treadmill display, only to find it missing. While pondering what to do next, the team meet Titans East. The team thinks that it would be better to disband the Titans upon their return to the present, but Cyborg 2.0 tells them that's exactly how this future timeline happens. He also says that the Titans ended up in factions because the country has been split up into Eastern and Western zones, though other dialogue suggests that it was the Titans West who forced the split on the country when the Titans East arose to protect the population from Dark Raven's malign influence.

The future Bart, the Flash, is revealed to be a double agent for both teams. He discovers the treadmill is in the Batcave. A brawl ensues between the Teen Titans and Titans East vs. the Future Titans. They fight to a stalemate, but the Teen Titans are able to access the treadmill and escape to the past.

[edit] Titans West members

  • Batman: Tim Drake has taken over the mantle of the Bat following the death of Bruce Wayne. He's more ruthless than his predecessor and exhibits many of the morals and ethics of Jason Todd. He carries around the gun that killed Thomas and Martha Wayne and he's not afraid to use it. In fact, he has hunted down most of Batman's rogues gallery and killed them. While not explicitly stated, he appears to be the leader of the Titans. He inherited the Batcave and the Kryptonite ring from Bruce.
  • Superman: Conner Kent has grown up and grown more powerful. His tactile telekinesis has increased to full-blown telekinesis and is able to create shields in addition to his fully developed Kryptonian powers. He has set up the Fortress of Paradise near Smallville, where Lex Luthor, his "Pa", now resides. At some point, he and Captain Marvel, Jr. fought for the affection of Cassie Sandsmark, the new Wonder Woman, and she chose Conner.
  • Wonder Woman: Cassie Sandsmark has become Ares' champion and the new Wonder Woman. She has replaced Diana, who had fallen during the "crisis."
  • Dark Raven: Raven has accepted her role as demoness and daughter of Trigon. She used her powers to absorb all emotion from the Western United States which is under the Titans control.
  • Animal Man: Gar Logan refused to join his best friend Cyborg on Titans East because Terra was a member. His powers have increased, and he now has the ability to become mythical animals. He can also turn into multiple animals at once.
  • Aquawoman: Lorena Marquez, the current Aquagirl. Not much is known about Aquawoman except that she posseses telepathic abilities that she used to take down the former Aqualad, Tempest.
  • The Flash: The mantle of the Flash has been handed down, yet again, this time to Bart Allen. He is seemingly the only Titan without compromised morals, which is why he also works for Titans East. He is involved with Rose Wilson, the Ravager. According to the Flash Museum, which has enveloped Keystone City, one of his allies is Donna Troy, who was still deceased at the time.

[edit] Titans East

[edit] Changes at Titans Tower

  • A statue of Batman, which has been destroyed.
  • A statue of Ares, Wonder Girl's half-brother.
  • A statue of Superman and Lex Luthor standing back to back.
  • A statue of Max Mercury.
  • A statue of Green Arrow.
  • A massive array of weapons at the Tower, including a Batplane, the Invisible Jet and Lex Luthor's Apokoliptian battle suit.

[edit] Landmarks in Titans Tomorrow

  • The Flash Museum which has completely usurped Keystone City.
  • The Fortress of Paradise, near Smallville. Speedy is held prisoner here.
  • The Kent Farm is the current home of Lex Luthor.
  • Titans Tower, New York. Home of Titans East.
  • Titans Tower, San Francisco. Home of Titans West.
  • Drake Manor, formerly Wayne Manor. Beneath the mansion is the Batcave, the location of Barry Allen's cosmic treadmill.
  • Batman's Graveyard, filled with his deceased Rogues' Gallery.
  • America has split into the Western United States, which is ruled by the future Titans and the Eastern United States, which is protected by Titans East.

[edit] Towards the Future

After the Teen Titans returned to their own time, some of the events seen in the Titans Tomorrow future came to pass, while others didn't:

  • The team did not disband as soon as they arrived in their own time, although they were told not to.
  • Donna Troy has returned from the dead.
  • Rather than becoming Superman, Superboy was killed in Infinite Crisis, although there have been attempts to resurrect him.
  • Bart Allen has inherited the Flash mantle, but wears a costume which reflects Barry Allen and Wally West's costume rather than a Kid/Reverse Flash derivative costume.
  • A group known as Titans East has appeared, though this team is a team of supervillains and is unrelated to the team seen in Titans Tomorrow.
  • Rose Wilson broke away from her father's influence thanks to Nightwing and joined the Teen Titans at his request.
  • Lorena Marquez briefly joined the Teen Titans during the events of 52.
  • A new Batwoman, Kate Kane, debuted during the events of 52.
  • Freedy Freeman is on a journey to succeed Billy Batson as the new Captain Marvel.
