Tisbury, Wiltshire

The small town of Tisbury lies approximately 13 miles west of Salisbury in the county of Wiltshire. With a population of a little over 2000 (see Wiltshire County Council)it is an important local centre for communities around the upper River Nadder and Vale of Wardour. It is the largest settlement within the Cranborne Chase and West Wiltshire Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty (larger nearby settlements such as Salisbury and Shaftesbury are just outside of it). One of Tisbury's most important facilities is its railway station which is on the Waterloo - Salisbury - Yeovil - Exeter line, placing its residents within commuting distance of the capital. It is only a few minutes from to the A303 trunk road linking South East England with the West Country.
