Tina Chang

Tina Chang is an Asian American poet. She was born in 1969 and raised in New York. She currently teaches at Sarah Lawrence College and Hunter College. Her first book of poetry, Half-Lit Houses, was published by Four Way Books in May 2004 and was a finalist for the Asian American Literary Award.

Chang received her master’s degree in poetry from Columbia University’s School of the Arts, where she studied with Lucie Brock-Broido, Lucille Clifton, Alfred Corn, Mark Doty and Richard Howard. She is currently co-editing an anthology of contemporary Arab and Asian poetry, along with poets Nathalie Handal and Ravi Shankar, due to be published by W.W. Norton in Spring 2008.
