Timothy Crouse

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Timothy Crouse is an American journalist and writer. He is most famously the author of The Boys on the Bus, a largely critical look at the journalists who covered the 1972 US presidential campaign. In the book, Crouse coins the term pack journalism. The book was based on his reporting for Rolling Stone, where he was a colleague of Hunter S. Thompson. Thompson is profiled in the book along with other "heavies" such as R.W. Apple, David Broder, and Robert Novak.

Timothy Crouse is the son of Russel Crouse and brother of Lindsay Crouse, and also the grandson of Pauline Ives and John Erskine (the novelist and former Columbia professor).
