[edit] Plot

[edit] "Timmy the Barbarian"

Timmy, Cosmo, and Wanda are trapped in a bedtime story Jorgen Von Strangle reads to Binky while he is ill. Wanda tells Timmy that in a fairy bedtime story, whatever is read really happens. Jorgen tells a story about the time Timmy wished his life were like a barbarian movie he saw. Then, Timmy the Barbarian (Timmy), his nagging sidekick, Nagules (Wanda), and Cosmoleus, the mule-faced human packmule (Cosmo) set off to find the chalice of "Mome". When he finally gets it back, he wishes his life was normal. It turns out that the cup of "Mome" was Timmy's present for his mom for Mother's Day, Timmy misspelling "mommy".

[edit] "No Substitute for Crazy!"

After Mr. Crocker injures himself by falling out of the school window, his class is given a wonderful new substitute teacher named Mrs. Sunshine. She rewards the class by giving out golden stars for silly things, such as using the restroom. She proves to be so good that Timmy wishes for her to be his every-day teacher. Timmy and the rest of the class finds out that she is an evil and professional fairy hunter named Ms. Doombringer. The golden stars that she gave out were magic, fairy dust detectors. Fairy dust is found on the stars of Timmy and his friends (because Timmy hangs out with them so much). Ms. Doombringer tries to find out who has the fairy. Timmy manages to escape the school through a secret exit in the Crocker Cave. Crocker (who is now the crossing guard) lets Timmy cross the street, but when Ms. Doombringer follows, he lets the cars go. A bus hits Ms. Doombringer. Crocker explains to Timmy that because Ms. Doombringer took his job, she was his enemy. He also explains, "The enemy of my enemy is my friend". Timmy still does not get it, so Crocker gives him an F and a golden star. Timmy just runs away. The next day, Crocker is injured again (via the light above him) and Timmy gets a Gabriel Van Helsing substitute teacher. Then, near the end, Timmy gives some monster students (who just appeared) this advice: "You're gonna wanna leave through the cave."

[edit] Secrets

  • At the end of "No substitute for Crazy!" The new, new substitute was the character of Gabriel Van Helsing.

[edit] Trivia/Goofs

  • First and sole appearance of Mrs. Sunshine (Ms. Doombringer)
  • This is the only episode in the series to premiere in 2006 (excluding Fairy Idol and the Jimmy/Timmy crossovers 2 and 3).
  • This episode aired in United Kingdom before it aired in United States.
  • When Crocker asked what was the capital of Tibequador (from Timmy the Barbarian), this was the country Timmy wished up in Oh Brother!. Because of this, Timmy should have known.
  • "Timmy the Barbarian" is the first episode to have something (besides the theme song) before the title card. It is also the second episode (since the Oh Yeah! shorts) to have an animated title card. The first was Information Stupor Highway.
  • It is revealed in "No Substitute for Crazy!", Elmer was Timmy's 4th best friend, Sanjay being the third. However, thanks to Elmer distracting Ms. Doombringer for Timmy, it is now vice-versa. Chester is #1 (as revealed in Fairy Idol) and AJ is probably #2.
  • The substitute at the end said he was hunting monsters and then Timmy sees a vampire, mummy, and Frankenstein monster behind him. But in other episodes they were said to not exist.
  • When Timmy ran out of "The Crocker Cave" in "No Substitute for Crazy!", the butterfly net that Mrs. Sunshine/Ms. Doombringer called wasn't there.
  • Running Gags in Timmy the Barbarian: Cosmo trips on a bug throughout the show, because Jorgan thinks it is funny. But it may have been also since Timmy was the one falling in another episode because of a ladybug;random people asking what a chalice is.
  • Ms. Doombringer's skull is very similar to the Punisher skull.
  • Ms. Doombringer sees Cosmo and Wanda with Timmy, but they don't have to go away forever for some reason.
  • Ms. Doombringer can be seen holding a skeleton for a short moment right before she says, "Curse their tiny bladders.".

[edit] Quotes

  • Cosmoleus: A bridge?
Timmy and Jorgen: It's not just any bridg...
Jorgen: HEY! That is my line!
  • (Timmy, Nagules, and Cosmoleus climb Mt. Pain.)
    Jorgen: Our heroes (and Cosmoleus)...
    Cosmoleus: HEY!
Jorgen: ...Climbed the treacherous mountain until Cosmo tripped on another bug.
(Cosmoleus trips on a bug and falls down the mountain)
    Cosmoleus: Hating this!
    Nagules: I'll get him.
    (She walks off screen.)
Nagules: Can't you climb a simple mountain of pain? Nag nag nag! Nag.
Jorgen: Finally, they reached the harpie's nest.
(They reach a nest with huge eggs.)
Nagules: Look at the size of these eggs!
Cosmoleus: All right! The Easter Bunny's coming!
    (He closes his eyes.)
Jorgen: As Cosmo closed his eyes and waited for the Easter Bunny who would never come, the harpie attacked!
    (Vicky as a harpie appears.)
    Vicky: TWERP!!!
(They fight for a little bit.)
Jorgen: Ooh, it was a ferocious battle that he could not win.
    Timmy: WHAT?!?
Jorgen: Then, the harpie crushed the barbarian with her claws, destroying him forever!
Binky: Wait! What kind of bedtime story is that? That's not a happy ending!
    Jorgen: It is for me.
    (Binky glares at him.)
    Jorgen: Oh fine.
(Back in the story, Vicky and Timmy are playing cards.)
    Timmy: Got any fives?
    Vicky: Nuh-uh.
Jorgen: Where were we? Oh, yes. But, rather than destroying him with her claws...
    Vicky: Aw.
Jorgen: Do not blame me, it is Binky!
    Vicky: Curse you, Binky!
Jorgen: She decided to drop him onto...
    Vicky (excited): Yeah, yeah!
Jorgen: ... The forbidden valley of the really pointy rocks.
    (really pointy rocks appear.)
    Jorgen: OF PAIN!
Timmy: (pushing Vicky into the valley) Ya!
Vicky: (landing on the rocks) Wow! These are pointy!
