Timbuctoo

Timbuctoo (also known as Easy Peasy People) is a series of 25 children's books, written and illustrated by Roger Hargreaves, better known for his Mr. Men series. It was published from 1978-1979. The books tell the stories of a group of animals, each of whom is named after the sound that they make.

The above characters cross over somewhat in the books. There is also the Timbuctoo Wizard who goes about the place making things better for the Timbuctoo dwellers, the Timbuctoo Farmer, who runs a farm in Timbuctoo, and the Timbuctoo Postman, who delivers mail occasionally and is somewhat perplexed by Cluck's postal naiveté.
