Tim Williamson

From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia

Tim Williamson (b. Reginald Garnet Williamson 6 June 1884 in North Ormesby, Middlesbrough) was a football player who made 602 appearances as a goalkeeper for Middlesbrough F.C., scoring two goals.

After playing for Redcar Crusaders he signed for Middlesbrough in April 1902. He made his debut against Bristol City at Ayresome Park on 19th April 1902 in a 2-0 victory.

Williamson was only 5ft 9ins tall, but this didn't stop him from making 602[citation needed] appearances for Boro, or being capped seven times for England between 1905 and 1913.

In 1910, Williamson scored two goals for Boro, both of them from the penalty spot.

He retired from football in 1923 at the age of 38, and is still top of Middlesbrough's record appearance table.
