Tim Smith (Cardiacs)
From Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
Tim Smith is the lead singer and guitar player in the progressive punk rock ("pronk") group Cardiacs, based in Salisbury, England. He was born on July 3rd 1961.
When not recording and performing with Cardiacs, Smith is often involved with recording and producing other bands at his home studio in Salisbury, such as Scaramanga Six, The Trudy and the support band for Cardiacs at their 2005 London Astoria show Johnny 4. Smith - who married former Cardiacs saxophonist Sarah Cutts in the late 1980s, which lead to (false) allegations that the union was incestuous (a rumour that made it all the way to the UK tabloids, thought to be perpetuated by Smith himself) - has been cited as an inspiration by many younger musicians, such as Mike Vennart of Oceansize and (perhaps most famously) Mike Patton of Faith No More and Mr Bungle.
