Tim Gallagher

Tim Gallagher has been the editor-in-chief of the Cornell Laboratory of Ornithology's Living Bird magazine since 1990.
He played an instrumental role in the rediscovery of the Ivory-billed Woodpecker, as one of the first three searchers to see and identify this long-missing bird in 2004. His book about the rediscovery of the bird, The Grail Bird: Hot on the Trail of the Ivory-billed Woodpecker (ISBN 0-618-45693-7) was published in May 2005.
Gallagher was born in England and received a B.A. in magazine journalism, and an M.A. in English, both from California State University.
