Tim Freedman (25 November 1964) is the lead singer and pianist of the Australian band The Whitlams. He was born in Sydney and was raised in Collaroy, in Sydney's Northern Beaches region. Prior to co-founding The Whitlams, Freedman the front man of ska band Itchy Feet, and later the indie pop bands Penguins on Safari and The Olive Branch.

In an interview, which aired on 612 ABC Brisbane on Friday September 29, 2006, Freedman said he became a pianist "by mistake" after quitting law school. He later completed a Bachelor of Arts at Sydney University. The song "No Aphrodisiac" was The Whitlams the break-through hit (1997). "It captured the imagination", he said.

He cited a highlight of his career so far: receiving the ARIA award for "Best Album" from the man after whom his band The Whitlams were named, former Australian Prime Minister Gough Whitlam. "We've become quite friendly since", he said.

"We've released six albums and had the same line-up for seven years", he said. "We're a tight-knit bunch of fellas". Finally, he declared: "The last decade's been pretty good to me".

Since late 2006, Tim has been the host of the music chat show The Tim Freedman Sunday Session 6pm Sunday nights on Sydney radio station Vega 95.3fm.
