Tim Etchells

Tim Etchells is the artistic director and writer behind Forced Entertainment. Founded in 1984, Forced Entertainment is one of the UK’s most respected and most groundbreaking experimental theatre companies. The group has developed a style all of its own to discuss contemporary life in its joys and complexities and to explore the relationship between audience and performer. He has led Forced Entertainment since its inception in 1984 and has also worked on solo projects as well as on various projects with a range of visual artists, choreographers, programmers and others including photographer Hugo Glendinning.

His collection of short fiction, Endland Stories, was published in December 1998 by Pulp Books, whilst Routledge published his selection of critical writing and performance texts, Certain Fragments, in Spring 1999. A third book, The Dream Dictionary (for the Modern Dreamer) was published by Duckworth’s in June 2001.
