Tim Roemer takes much hey about his vote against the Clinton tax increase and budget in 1993. It is important to keep in mind, that according to Congressional Quarterly, Roemer voted to preserve the taxing and spending limits in Clinton's budget 44 times in procedural votes only to vote against the final version of the bill. It is more likely that this was a political move on Roemers part because while the 3rd district was mostly democractic, it was old school democratic which made a conservative democrat look appealing.
