Hi ! I'm Tilak Gupta
A Music lover and performer, a dreamer with a artistic inclination. Almost all forms of Art, Literature, Cinema, Theatre, Nature and my Family occupy an important place in my life. I'm a Software Professional, currently working in a Software Distribution Company as Technical Consultant in Kolkata.
Born in Kolkata in the year 1967. My Schooling was from Jagadbandhu Institution and New Alipore Multipurpose School. Graduated in Commerce from Netaji Nagar College, under Calcutta University in the year 1988.
I am also holding a Post Graduate Diploma in Computers and Information Management, done from UPTRON ACL, and also a Citrix Certified Administrator.
I am fond of Bengali Literature , Indian Classical Music, Ghazals, Semi-Classical, Old Bengali Songs and Songs of Tagore (Rabindra Sangeet), almost all forms of Art, Cinema, Theatre and the Nature.
My first "Guru" is my father. I was disciple of Late Pandit Chinmoy Lahiri, a well known personality in Indian Classical Music and afterwards I learned from his son Sri. Shyamal Lahiri.
In Rabindrasangeet, my "Guru"s were Late Subinoy Roy and Smt. Maya Sen. I am holding "Geetabharati" Degree from "GITABITAN", a renowned Institution in Kolkata.
For a very few days learned "Bangla Adhunik" from Sri. Biman Mukhopadhyay. I was also associated with "INDIRA" an well known Musical Group of Kolkata.
I use to perform Rabindrasangeet and other Bangla songs in various programmes. Some of my mentionable performances were – Haldia Utsab, Kasba Utsab, Birth Centenary Celebration of Soumendra Nath Tagore, West Bengal Book Fair. Participated in few programmes where under the same banner with Sri Subhendu Maity , Smt. Sanghamitra Gupta, Sri Pratul Mukhopadhyay participated. On behalf of "GITABITAN" broadcasted from All India Radio and Doordarshan.
